Malta 2014 - Possible Themes for €2 Commemorative Coins
Malta in the year 2014 will celebrate 2 major events - on 1st of May together with nine other countries will celebrate its 10 years of being in the European Union, few months later on the 21st September will celebrate its 50 years of independence - so hopefully the central bank of Malta will pick up one of these themes and materialise it into a 2 euro commemorative coin. Meanwhile you can enjoy my fantasy designs!
10 Years in the European Union

2010 Malta
Malta this year will celebrate the 1950th year of Christianity. For this event Pope Benedict XVI will visit the island for almost 2 days between the 17-18th April.
Although this major celebration gives Malta a good reason to issue a €2 commemorative coin, the Central Bank of Malta so far did not disclose if they plan to issue this commemorative coin or not, thus any news about this are mere rumours!
2010 San Marino
San Marino like every year, this year is planning to issue a €2 commemorative coin to commemorate the 500th anniversary since the death of Sandro Botticelli.
The design for this coin is already known and you can see it on right image including the folder in which it will be packed.
